Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Affirms Permissibility of Mourning Imam Husayn During Prayer
—————————–
During a scholarly session, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Hussaini Shirazi stated that mourning Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), even audibly, while performing prayer does not constitute a violation of the Prayer.

In his daily scholarly session on Tuesday, 16th Rabi’ al-Awwal 1447, His Eminence made this statement while addressing questions from attendees on various jurisprudential issues.

Regarding the practice of mourning Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), the Supreme Marja affirmed that crying in his remembrance during prayer is permissible. He noted that, according to the view of several jurists—which he personally supports—there is no objection to expressing grief in the form of crying for Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) even aloud during salah (prayer).

He elaborated that general permissions for crying, supported by numerous transmitted narrations, include mourning for Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) during Prayer.
