Najaf Launches Special Security Plan for Prophet’s Martyrdom Anniversary

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior has launched a special security plan in the holy city of Najaf to ensure the safety of pilgrims commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family).

According to the Shia Waves Agency quoting the official Iraqi News Agency, Miqdad Myry, the director of the Interior Ministry’s Relations and Media Department, stated that the plan involves deploying additional security and logistical forces and implementing precautionary measures in the province’s deserts and security belts.

Al Mayadeen news agency also reported that this initiative follows the successful security plan during the Arbaeen pilgrimage and includes a comprehensive traffic plan to manage the movement of vehicles and pilgrims. Middle East News quoted Major General Muhammad Jabr Diyab, the Najaf Police Commander, who announced that the plan went into effect this morning at 6:00 a.m.
