Global calls for two-state solution intensify as humanitarian aid pours into besieged Gaza by air

An international conference organized by the United Nations in Rabat, Morocco, has concluded with overwhelming support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

During the recent convention, representatives from over 100 countries, international organizations, and civil society groups underscored the urgent need for a durable peace based on international law, calling for an end to the Israeli occupation, a halt to settlement expansion, and protection of Palestinian rights, particularly highlighting the critical status of Jerusalem, Arab News reported.

Concurrently, humanitarian efforts to alleviate the severe crisis in the Gaza Strip are intensifying. In recent days, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Jordan conducted a joint humanitarian aid airdrop over Gaza, delivering essential relief to the besieged population. This follows previous collaborative operations, including those involving the United States and Jordan, which have seen thousands of tons of aid delivered by air due to the severe restrictions on land access.

The renewed focus on a political resolution at the UN conference comes as Gaza faces a spiraling humanitarian catastrophe. Aid organizations continuously report dire shortages of food, water, medicine, and fuel, with dire warnings of famine and widespread disease. While airdrops provide some immediate relief, diplomatic and humanitarian bodies continue to stress the critical importance of reopening and expanding land crossings to ensure sufficient and sustained aid flow. The international community’s dual approach—pushing for a political settlement while ramping up emergency aid—reflects the urgent need to address both the root causes of the conflict and its devastating human consequences.
