Gunmen Attack Passenger Bus in Balochistan, Leaving Three Dead
………………

At least three people were killed and seven injured when armed assailants ambushed a passenger bus in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, Khaama Press reported. The incident took place on Wednesday, July 16, in the Kalat district as the bus traveled from Karachi to Quetta.

Local authorities confirmed that several of the injured passengers remain in critical condition, and the death toll may rise. Police have described the incident as a “targeted terrorist attack” and have launched an investigation.

No group has claimed responsibility, but similar attacks in the region have previously been carried out by separatist organizations, including the Baloch Liberation Army, which often targets non-local passengers and workers.

The Kalat attack highlights persistent security challenges in Balochistan, where militants frequently target infrastructure, transport routes, and civilians, particularly in remote areas.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack and called on security forces to identify and bring those responsible to justice. The government has reaffirmed its commitment to combating militancy in the province and improving safety for travelers.
