Hundreds in Stockholm Protest Israel’s Gaza Offensive
……………………
Hundreds of people gathered in Stockholm’s Odenplan district on Saturday to protest Israel’s continued military operations in Gaza. Marching toward the Swedish parliament, demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
Protesters accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza and urged the Swedish government to take a stronger stance. Mattias Gardell, a professor at Uppsala University, criticized Sweden’s silence and called for an end to arms sales to Israel, a boycott of Israeli companies, and prosecution of those responsible for alleged war crimes.
The protest comes as the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for top Israeli officials and the International Court of Justice hears a genocide case against Israel. Gaza health authorities report tens of thousands have been killed since the offensive began last October. Protesters demanded that Sweden act in line with international law and hold Israel accountable through legal channels.
