UAE unveils new Arabic AI model, Falcon Arabic

The United Arab Emirates has launched Falcon Arabic, a new Arabic-language artificial intelligence model developed by Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute. Trained on diverse regional dialects, the model reportedly matches the performance of much larger systems.

The announcement was made by the Advanced Technology Research Council, which also introduced Falcon H1—a version aimed at reducing the computing power and expertise required to run AI models.

The UAE, seeking leadership in AI, first introduced the Falcon model in 2023. The launch follows a recent UAE-U.S. AI agreement signed during former President Donald Trump’s visit to Abu Dhabi.
