European Pressure Mounts on Israel as Gaza Crisis Worsens

European nations escalated demands for Israel to halt its Gaza offensive and allow more aid, as fresh attacks killed dozens, including children, Arab News reported. The EU announced a review of its trade deal with Israel over human rights concerns, while Sweden pushed for sanctions and Britain suspended trade talks, imposing West Bank settler sanctions.

Despite Israel permitting 93 UN aid trucks into Gaza on Tuesday, UN officials described the deliveries as insufficient, with reports of delays and critical shortages. The UN warned 14,000 infants could die within 48 hours without urgent aid.

Israel defended its actions, vowing to continue its campaign against Hamas after weekend strikes killed 44, mostly women and children. Clashes over ceasefire talks persisted, with Qatar blaming Israel’s “aggressive behavior” for stalling negotiations. Gaza’s death toll since March 18 reached 3,427, with over 53,573 killed since the war began.
