Hyderabad Building Fire Kills 17 Near Charminar

A massive fire at Gulzar House near Hyderabad’s Charminar killed 17 people, including eight children, on Sunday morning, The Tribune reported. The blaze, caused by a short-circuit in the ground-floor jewelry shops, spread smoke to residential flats above, suffocating occupants.
Two children—aged two and seven–besides three women were among the dead, the source mentioned. Victims with severe burns and inhalation injuries were declared dead at Yashoda and Apollo Hospitals.
Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy ordered an inquiry, while officials confirmed no conspiracy angle. Firefighters rescued 17 trapped individuals, but access remains restricted. Four interconnected families were among the affected.
