India, Pakistan Agree on Immediate Ceasefire, Senior Officials Confirm

Senior officials from India and Pakistan announced on Saturday that the two countries have reached an agreement on a complete and immediate ceasefire.

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, confirmed the deal, stating: “Pakistan has always sought regional peace and security without compromising its sovereignty or territorial integrity.”

Vikram Misri, India’s Foreign Minister, added: “Under this agreement, all hostilities—whether on land, in the air, or at sea—will cease.”

The breakthrough follows intense negotiations mediated by the United States. Minutes before the official announcement, former U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social: “After a long night of U.S.-brokered talks, I’m pleased to announce India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire.”

The deal marks a critical de-escalation amid weeks of heightened military tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
