Clash Near Baghdad Leaves Two ISIS Militants Dead, Security Officer Wounded

A joint Iraqi security operation targeting Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Tarmiyah, 40 km north of Baghdad, resulted in a firefight on Sunday, Xinhua reported.
The confrontation left two ISIS fighters dead and one security personnel injured. Authorities confirmed ongoing searches for additional militants in the area.
Despite Iraq’s 2017 declaration of victory over ISIS, the group’s remnants persist in launching attacks against security forces and civilians, particularly in urban zones, deserts, and isolated regions.
