7 Civilians Killed, Dozens Injured in RSF Shelling in Sudan

At least seven civilians were killed and dozens injured due to artillery shelling by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan, Anadolu Agency reported. The Khartoum State reported that RSF forces targeted the Al-Thawra neighborhood in Omdurman on Sunday night, resulting in four deaths, including two children, and injuring 30 others. Additionally, three more civilians were killed, and 20 were injured in El-Obeid city.

The Sudanese Doctors Network urged the international community to pressure the RSF to cease attacks on civilian areas. There was no immediate response from the RSF regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese army announced the capture of strategic locations in central Khartoum, tightening the siege on RSF militants. The RSF’s territorial control has been rapidly shrinking across several states, while the army now controls significant areas of Khartoum.

The ongoing conflict, which began in April 2023, has resulted in over 20,000 deaths and displaced 14 million, with international calls for an end to hostilities growing amid a looming humanitarian crisis.
