Security Forces Eliminate 10 Terrorists, Thwart Attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

On Thursday, security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Jandola area killed 10 terrorists attempting to attack a checkpost, Dawn reported citing the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The incident occurred near the border of South Waziristan and Tank districts. Troops effectively thwarted the assault, forcing the terrorists to detonate an explosive-laden vehicle against the checkpost’s perimeter wall.
After an intense firefight, all 10 attackers, including a suicide bomber, were neutralized. A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the vicinity. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for their swift response, stating, “The nation is proud of the professional capabilities of the security forces.”
This incident follows a series of recent attacks, including the killing of three terrorists in an intelligence-based operation last week. February saw a rise in terrorist activities, resulting in significant civilian casualties, as reported by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
