Morocco’s Residence in Sweden Hosts Iftar Celebrating Unity

Morocco’s residence in Stockholm hosted a multi-faith iftar event on Monday, promoting tolerance and unity during Ramadan, Morocco World New reported. The gathering included high-ranking Swedish officials, diplomats, and representatives from the three monotheistic religions, reflecting Morocco’s commitment to interfaith dialogue.

Under the theme “Embracing Tolerance and Unity,” the event featured Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard. The Moroccan embassy highlighted the occasion’s adherence to “pure Moroccan traditions,” creating an inclusive atmosphere that transcended borders and beliefs.

Ambassador Karim Medrek emphasized Morocco’s historical role as a land of coexistence, celebrating the nation’s moderate approach to religion. He noted that, even in challenging times, Morocco remains a model of coexistence, largely due to King Mohammed VI’s dedication to peace and tolerance. The iftar served as a reminder of the importance of unity and understanding among diverse communities, reinforcing Morocco’s position as a leader in harmonious coexistence.
