Muslims worldwide commemorate passing anniversary of Sayyeda Khadijah al-Kubra

Shia Muslims in Iraq and around the world commemorated today, Tuesday, 10th of Ramadan, the solemn anniversary of the passing of Sayyeda Khadijah al-Kubra, peace be upon her, the revered wife of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his pure family.
According to Shia Waves Agency, mourning banners were displayed across holy shrines, mosques, and religious centers in Iraq and other countries. Devotees honor Sayyeda Khadijah’s sacrifices in supporting Islam and the Holy Prophet, remembering her unwavering faith and generosity.
Believers emphasized that Sayyeda Khadijah’s life exemplified noble values, steadfastness, and moral excellence, making her a role model for both men and women. They stressed that this commemoration is an opportunity to revive virtuous principles and reflect on the profound lessons from her life, especially her dedication to Islam, which led the Prophet to name the year of her passing “The Year of Sorrow.”
The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, has urged the faithful to learn from Sayyeda Khadijah’s legacy and uphold her teachings, especially among Muslim women, to preserve her enduring influence.
