Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Delivers Annual Speech Ahead of Ramadan

Last night, his Eminence delivered a significant annual speech in his honourable residence ahead of the blessed month of Ramadan. The speech highlighted the significance of utilizing the month of Ramadan for self-improvement and serving others. Grand Ayatollah Shirazi emphasized that every Muslim should seize the opportunity for spiritual growth and guidance during this sacred month.

He stressed the necessity of spiritual and intellectual preparation to maximize the benefits of Ramadan. Citing a saying from the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), which states, “The best of people is the one who benefits others,” he noted that the superiority of individuals is measured by the benefits they provide to others.

The Supreme Marja examined this concept of benefiting others in both worldly and spiritual contexts, underlining the importance of focusing on the hereafter. He encouraged adherence to religious teachings and the establishment of necessary foundations for spreading the knowledge of Ahl al-Bayt to all of humanity, viewing Ramadan as a valuable opportunity for self-purification and guiding others.

He further remarked on the obligation of conveying the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt to all, describing it as a communal duty for all Muslims. Despite the passage of over a thousand years, he pointed out that shortcomings still exist in disseminating these teachings, urging everyone to contribute to this cause to the best of their abilities.

His Eminence emphasized the need for missionaries to practice what they preach to enhance the impact of their words. He stated that Ramadan is a prime opportunity for addressing spiritual and religious matters and should be fully utilized.

In his concluding remarks, he highlighted the importance of self-purification and guiding others during Ramadan, quoting the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) on the best actions in this blessed month being to avoid sin and engage in worship.

He concluded by praying for divine assistance in fulfilling these responsibilities for everyone.
