Iraq: Millions of Shia Muslims in Holy Karbala to celebrate blessed birth of Imam al-Mahdi

Millions of Shia Muslims are flocking to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the blessed birth anniversary of the Savior of Humanity—Imam Mahdi— may Allah hasten his reappearance.

Since early morning, massive crowds from within Iraq and abroad have gathered, filling the streets leading to the shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother al-Abbas (peace be upon them) to mark the 1,191st anniversary of Imam al-Mahdi’s birth, expressing their loyalty and hope for the divine savior’s awaited reappearance.

Pilgrims shared their overwhelming joy in participating in this significant occasion, emphasizing their deep spiritual connection to Imam al-Mahdi and their aspiration for a world filled with justice and peace.

They noted that commemorating this blessed event near the shrine of Imam Hussein holds profound spiritual meaning, renewing their pledge of allegiance to Imam al-Mahdi.

Meanwhile, local authorities in Holy Karbala have implemented comprehensive security and service plans to ensure the safety and comfort of the millions of pilgrims attending the Mid-Sha’ban pilgrimage.
