US Military Aircraft Returns Over 200 Deported Indians

A US military aircraft is set to return more than 200 Indian nationals who have been deported from the United States, TRTWorld reported citing NDTV. The C-17 military flight is reportedly verifying the identity of each deported individual, indicating India’s involvement in the process. This flight marks the beginning of what may be a series of repatriation efforts for irregular Indian immigrants in the US.

The Indian Foreign Ministry has not yet commented on the situation. Since Donald Trump’s presidency, the US has conducted similar military flights to Central American countries for deportations. Trump has stated that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured him of India’s cooperation regarding the deportation of illegal migrants.

The Indian government has expressed its strong opposition to illegal migration, emphasizing its links to organized crime. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal highlighted ongoing efforts between India and the US to deter illegal migration while promoting legal avenues for migration.
