Israeli Army Continues Violations in Southern Lebanon, Setting Homes on Fire

The Israeli army has set fire to more buildings in the Marjayoun district of southern Lebanon, violating the ceasefire established on November 27 last year, Anadolu Agency reported. State media reported that several homes and structures in the towns of Rab El Thalathine and Odaisseh were ignited, with smoke visible in the sky. Israeli drones also targeted vehicles clearing rubble in Taybeh.

These actions have contributed to a total of 830 ceasefire violations, according to data from Anadolu. Meanwhile, the Lebanese army has begun clearing explosives and war remnants in the town of Aitaroun, as announced by local officials.

Israel was expected to complete its military withdrawal from Lebanon by January 26, but the deadline has been extended to February 18, as confirmed by the White House. Since January 26, at least 26 people have died and 221 have been injured due to Israeli gunfire, as residents attempt to return to their villages. The conflict, which escalated in September 2024, has claimed over 4,000 lives.
