Over 200 houses, including Hazrat Panj Peer Dargah, demolished in India’s Gujarat’s Okha

Authorities in Gujarat’s Dwarka district have initiated a large-scale demolition drive allegedly aimed at removing illegal encroachments, including the Hazrat Panj Peer Dargah, which was built on land owned by the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) in Okha, Muslim Mirror reported.

Over the last three days, approximately 200 structures, including homes, have been demolished, freeing thousands of square meters of alleged government land.

The operation also extended to Pirotan Island, where illegal constructions covering about 4,000 square feet were dismantled. According to local authorities, this action is part of efforts to address national security concerns and protect the fragile marine ecosystem of the Marine National Park, located near critical infrastructure handling 60% of India’s crude oil imports.
