Saudi court sentenced a Shia citizen to 7 years in prison
The Jadda’s Specialized Criminal Court handed out sentence to the citizen Jasim Makki Al Safar, from Awwamiya town, to 7 years in prison and a travel ban for the same period.
The court convicted “Al Safar” for posting comments on Facebook, interviewing foreign news correspondent, sending photos and videos about the peaceful protests in Qatif to satellite channels.
It is worth to mention that the Saudi security forces arrested on 8 July 2012, Jasim Al Sefar, at his workplace in Jubail city in the Eastern province.
Al Safar was convicted with 10 Shia citizens on suspicion of participation in the activities of a terrorist cell.
