Pakistan: Two Militant Commanders Killed in Lakki Operations

Two commanders of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in separate operations in Lakki Marwat, Dawn reported yesterday.

The first operation occurred in Tor Lawangkhel, where a commander named Inam was killed during an intelligence-based raid by local police and Counter-Terrorism Department commandos. Inam was wanted for various terrorism-related offenses.

In a second operation in Shaikh Khula, another commander, Waheed, was killed. He was affiliated with the TTP’s Teepu Gul group and was also on the police’s most-wanted list. Following these operations, only 72 terrorists remain on the police’s “red book.”

Additionally, four security personnel were injured in a clash in Mirali Bazaar, North Waziristan, where several militants were reportedly killed. The area experienced panic, leading to shop closures, and a nearby cattle market caught fire during the incident.
