Deputy of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi meets Senior Archbishop of Evangelical Church of Georgia

The deputy of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Shirazi, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sheikh Jalal Ma’ash, welcomed Malkhaz Songulashvili, the Senior Archbishop of the Evangelical Church of Georgia, at his residence in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The meeting involved a profound discussion about the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage and the sacrifices of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, for the sake of humanity, justice, and freedom.

The archbishop expressed his admiration for the immense impact that Holy Arbaeen has had on the Georgian church, commending the universal values upheld by Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, that transcend religious and cultural boundaries.

Songulashvili also highlighted the fact that the Georgian church has held Hussaini rituals as an expression of their love for Imam Hussein, reflecting the well-known slogan: “Hussein is for everyone.”

The archbishop extended his deep gratitude to the Shirazi religious authority, appreciating its consistent support for maintaining and organizing Hussaini rituals and emphasizing the high ethical values that leave a positive mark on the entire world.

In turn, Sheikh Jalal Ma’ash emphasized the significance of the meeting on various levels, contributing to interfaith dialogue and building bridges of communication and tolerance among different cultures.
