Iraq sentences three ISIS members to death on charges of attacks against security forces

Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council announced on Thursday the sentencing of three ISIS members to death for attacks on security forces in Anbar and Salahaddin provinces, Rudaw reported.

The court stated that the militants aimed to incite fear among civilians and were convicted under the 2005 Terrorism Law for their involvement in terrorist acts.

This comes amid a surge in anti-ISIS operations across Iraq, particularly in disputed territories. On the same day, the army’s Joint Operations Command confirmed the deaths of six ISIS members, including a leader, during a raid in Kirkuk.
