Wildfires Ravage Over 400 Square Kilometers in Western U.S., Putting Strain on resources

California is battling three major wildfires that have consumed over 400 square kilometers (100,000 acres), severely taxing firefighting resources, Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.

The Bridge Fire, which ignited on Sunday, has burned 198 square kilometers and remains 0% contained, although recent humidity and cooler temperatures have moderated its behavior. The Line Fire has scorched 137 square kilometers with only 14% containment, while the Airport Fire has affected nearly 89 square kilometers in Trabuco Canyon. Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone stated that the simultaneous fires are overwhelming resources, prompting requests for assistance from northern California and neighboring states.

An emergency proclamation and evacuation orders are currently in effect for impacted areas.
