Grand Ayatollah Shirazi encourages Shia Muslims to celebrate “Second Eid al-Ghadir”

In a statement published on the official website of his Eminence, the Supreme Religious Authority Grand Ayatollah Sadiq Al-Husseini Al-Shirazi encouraged the Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, to celebrate and express joy on the significant occasion of the “Second Eid al-Ghadir,” also known as “Farhatal-Zahra,” an event observed on the 9th of Rabi’ al-Awwal.

In his statement, the Grand Marja referred to the words of the Infallible Imam, “They rejoice at our joy,” indicating that this celebration is one of the great divine rites that the followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, must uphold, just as they commemorate occasions of grief and sorrow.

In explaining the significance of this occasion, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi mentioned that the 9th of Rabi’ al-Awwal is as important as Eid al-Ghadir, which is observed on the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah, describing the 9th of Rabi’ al-Awwal as the “Eid of Dissociation from the Enemies of Ahlulbayt,” affirming that both of these Eids represent the two wings of the Islamic Doctrine, symbolizing the principles of loyalty “Tawalli” and dissociation “Tabarri”.

The Supreme Religious Authority emphasized that loyalty and dissociation are the foundations of the faith, and that the first and second Ghadir complement each other in strengthening this principle, which must be firmly rooted in the hearts of believers.

His Eminence concluded his speech by calling on Shia Muslims around the world to take advantage of these occasions to introduce people to the pure biography of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and to spread the values they embodied in their lives, promoting justice, reform, and adherence to monotheism.
