Canadian Shias: The Mourning of Imam Hussein lives on in the hearts of believers across generations
Shia Muslims in the Canadian city of Calgary have reiterated their belief that commemorating the mourning of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is the greatest message from the believers to the world, affirming their adherence to the pure path of true Islamic teachings.
In interviews with Shia Waves Agency, a group of Shia believers in the city said, “The blessings of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, are bestowed upon the loyal Shias every year during these sacred days of his Ashura and the Holy Arba’een Pilgrimage.”
They added that “the Shia communities residing in various regions of Canada are keen to observe the mourning of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, remember his oppression, and spread the message of his humanitarian movement to the world.”
They pointed out that “the commemoration of Imam Hussain’s mourning ceremonies represents the great divine rituals recommended by the pure Imams, peace be upon them. It is a message to the world that believers are committed to the true Islamic path and dedicated to reviving its teachings in their souls and hearts.”
The speakers noted that “Canada is currently immersed in an atmosphere of sorrow and mourning as the Arba’een Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, approaches. This is reflected in the Hussaini ceremonies that are passed down from generation to generation, ensuring the continuation of loyalty on the path of the pure Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.”
