Imam Hussein Holy Shrine prepares to launch its 10th Int’l Tarateel Sajjadiya Festival
Imam Hussein Holy Shrine announced on Sunday that it is holding its 10th International Tarateel Sajjadiya Festival in Holy Karbala, pointing out that this year’s festival includes the translation of al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiya into Romanian.
Jamal al-Din al-Shahristani, head of the festival’s preparatory committee, said in a statement followed by Shia Waves Agency that “the festival is dedicated to the biography and heritage of Imam Zain al-Abidin, peace be upon him.”
Al-Shahristani added that, “this year’s edition, titled ‘The Ethical Approach and Human Rights in the Life and Heritage of Imam al-Sajjad’, includes 14 new publications for the Library of Imam al-Sajjad, with contributions from Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Russia. Additionally, it includes the translation of al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiya into Romanian.”
According to the official, researchers and scholars, filmmakers and journalists from Western and Arab countries will participate in the festival, including the Mufti of Russia, the Mufti of Tajikistan, a high-level Romanian delegation.
Al-Shahristani emphasized that “there are many reasons for adopting this festival, most notably what happened in 2014 when the idea of the ‘Treatise on Rights’ was published, inspiring the United Nations Charter, and it is the oldest document of human rights in the world.
It should be mentioned thta al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiya is a book of supplications by Imam Ali al-Sajjad, peace be upon him, the fourth Infallible Imam in Shia Islam, and the great-grandson of the Holy prophet. The oldest prayer manual in Islam, al-Sahifa has been praised as the epitome of Islamic spirituality and the answer to many of today’s spiritual questions.
