Holy Karbala Government expects arrival of 25M pilgrims during Holy Arbaeen
The Local Government of Holy Karbala has taken early measures in preparation for the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, expecting the arrival of 25 million pilgrims to the city to commemorate this significant occasion.
In a press release followed by Shia Waves Agency, the Governor of holy Karbala Nassif Jassem al-Khattabi said, “This week saw several meetings with service departments to evaluate their performance during Holy Ashura, in addition to directing these departments to present their plans for the Holy Arbaeen.”
Al-Khattabi pointed out that, “Imam Hussein Ring Road, linking Holy Karbala to the Hindiya district in Babil province, has been completed. This road will help reduce the congestion at the city entrances during massive pilgrimages”, adding that “Al-Hussein Water Project has also been completed, providing a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters per day to meet the drinking water needs of the pilgrims.”
