Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi announces Monday as first of Holy Muharram

The office of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, has announced that Monday —corresponding to 8 July 2024—marks the first of the holy month of Muharram, 1446 AH.

According to a statement published by Grand Ayatollah Shirazi’s office, tomorrow Sunday will be the 30th of the blessed month of Dhu’l-Hijjah, and that Monday will mark the first of Holy Muharram.

It should be mentioned that Muslims across the world, especially the Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, commemorate the martyrdom of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, on the tenth of this holy month.
