Turkish Authorities Detain 56 Suspected ISIS Members in Nationwide Raids

In a major crackdown on Islamic State (ISIS) activity, Turkish police have detained 56 suspected members of the terrorist group across four provinces in the country, Xinhua reported yesterday.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the operations, dubbed “Bozdogan-38,” which were carried out in the regions of Sanliurfa, Hatay, Denizli, and Konya, the source mentioned.

The suspects are accused of recruiting for ISIS, providing weapons and organizational training, as well as offering logistical support and financial aid to active members.

Turkey has designated ISIS as a terrorist organization since 2013 and has blamed the group for several deadly attacks within its borders in recent years. The latest arrests underscore Turkey’s ongoing efforts to disrupt ISIS networks operating within its territory.
