Afghanistan: Death toll from recent heavy precipitation climbs to 39
Afghanistan has experienced significant snowfall recently, resulting in the unfortunate loss of 39 lives across various provinces and injury of 30 others.
The heavy snowfall has caused communication routes in provinces and districts to become blocked, and led to the death of 14,000 livestock.
Additionally, the recent snow and rain have caused complete or partial destruction of 637 residential homes, according to local disaster management authorities.
Meanwhile, the heavy snowfall in the country has brought joy to farmers as it contributes to increasing surface water for agriculture.
