The Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas Holy Shrine participated in the conference on data diversity in international contexts in the RDA cataloging system which was held in the Technology University Hall in the capital of Malaysia; Kuala Lumpur, in the presence of a large international audience of relevant institutions and persons.
This is an introduction to a broader participation in the 84th World Congress of Libraries and Information, organized by the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from August 24 to 30, under the theme: (Transfer of libraries' work; the way to transform communities), which comes to highlight the influential role played by libraries in changing and developing societies and nations.
The conference was organized by the Board of Directors of the Standard and Description of the Sources and opened by the RDA Chairperson Mrs. Chris Oliver, who spoke about the unification of the RDA community through these conferences and the exchange of experiences among them. The international event also shed light on the various experiences in the world's libraries, including the library and the manuscript house of the holy shrine.
