The world was taken aback when 14-year-old Ahmed Mohammed was arrested at his high school for bringing with him a homemade clock. The misunderstanding from his teacher ended with the boy in handcuffs. Pictures of a confused-looking handcuffed Ahmed in his NASA t-shirt soon went viral with the hashtag #iStandWithAhmed trending worldwide.
The boy has now declared that he no longer wants to return to the Texas suburban high school because he no longer felt safe there. Ahmed also added that the kids might not be happy with him there after what commotion the incident had stirred up. Mohammed al-Hassan Mohammed, the boy’s father said he supported Ahmed.
