Shias around the globe are decorating their houses and holding celebrations for the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of the Father of the Imams, Ameer al-Mumineen, peace be upon him.
Holy shrines in Iraq, Syria, and Iran in addition to mosques, Husseiniyahs, and Islamic centers in Islamic and non-Islamic countries are marking the birth anniversary of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, including which was the al-Rasul al-Atham Foundation in London. The foundation celebrated the birth anniversary with the presence of scholars, Seminary student, and lovers of Ahlulbait, peace be upon them. Among the attendees to the celebration were Hujatul Islam Sayyid Murtatha Kashmiri, Grand Ayatollah Sistani representative, Ayatollah Sheikh Dhiyaul Din, former custodian and secretary general of Imam Ali holy shrine, as well as the Iraqi ambassador in the United Kingdom.
Imam Ali, peace be upon him, was born on the 13th of Rajab, 601 A.D, to Abu Talib and Fatima bintAsad. He was the only person born in the sacred sanctuary of the Kaaba in Mecca, the holiest place in Islam.
