The United Nations called for an immediate reduction in violence in Afghanistan on Tuesday, saying the number of civilian and army deaths by the Taliban terrorist movement is increasing.

In a statement, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan expressed concern about the escalation of attacks and the brutality of the attacks for which ISIS claimed responsibility.

No one has claimed responsibility for the horrific attack, which was carried out last week, targeting a maternity hospital in the capital, but the United States said that it bore the hallmarks of ISIS, which has repeatedly targeted the Shia minority in the country.
