Iraq holy Quran contest announce finalists

A team from the province of Wasit and another from Najaf made it to the final round of the 4th group Quran contest in Iraq.

 

 

A team from the province of Wasit and another from Najaf made it to the final round of the 4th group Quran contest in Iraq.

According to Kafeel website, the team from Diwaniyah province and the one from the Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd al-Shaabi) will compete for the third prize.

The competition is underway in the holy city of Karbala.

It began on Thursday, May 17, which marked the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

A total of 16 teams from different parts of the Arab country have been competing for the top prize.

Each team comprises a Qari, a Quran memorizer and one familiar with Tafseer (interpretation) of the Holy Quran.

The Center for Educating Qaris and Quran Memorizers, affiliated to the holy shrine of al-Abbas, peace be upon him, in Karbala organizers the event annually.

The competition will wrap up on the 15th day of Ramadan (Thursday, May 31).
