Three million people present rug of pure silk to Imam Hussein Holy Shrine

 

Three million persons have presented a rug - made of pure silk - to the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.

Qasim Hussain Mohammed al-Amiri, one of the participants in the accomplishment who accompanied the delegation from Isfahan, said that about three million people contributed to the making of this pure silk rug that measures (2.30 x 1.80), and the work continued for more than a year and a half.

The rug contains the name of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, the dome of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, and narcissus flowers; indicating Lady Nergis – mother of Imam al-Mehdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance, and other flowers symbolizing the martyrs who sacrificed themselves to protect the holy shrines of Iraq and Syria.
