Houthi Military Chief Killed in Israeli Airstrike, Group Confirms
……………..
Yemen’s Houthi movement has announced the death of its military chief of staff, Mohammed al-Ghamari, and his teenage son during what it described as “an honourable battle against the Israeli enemy,” the BBC reported. Israel’s Defence Minister said Ghamari died of wounds from an Israeli airstrike in Sanaa in late August, which also killed other senior Houthi officials. The group vowed revenge, calling the deaths “a source of pride.”
The humanitarian situation in Yemen remains one of the world’s worst crises, marked by widespread hunger, displacement, and the collapse of essential services after nearly a decade of conflict. Millions of Yemenis face severe food insecurity, with malnutrition rates among children among the highest globally.
