US Airstrikes Kill 68 at Migrant Shelter in Yemen, Houthis Claim

Houthi authorities reported at least 68 fatalities and 47 injuries after US airstrikes hit a migrant shelter in Yemen’s northern Saada province on Monday, Anadolu Agency reported. The Houthi-run Interior Ministry stated the facility housed 115 African migrants and was jointly supervised by the IOM and ICRC, condemning the attack as a “war crime.”

Al-Masirah TV broadcast footage showing extensive damage and emergency evacuations, with one unexploded missile reportedly being neutralized. The US has not yet commented.

Since March 15, Houthi data claims over 1,200 US strikes in Yemen have killed 225+ civilians and wounded 430+, predominantly women and children. President Trump recently vowed “decisive military action” against the Houthis, who have targeted Red Sea shipping since November 2023 in solidarity with Gaza. Attacks paused during January’s ceasefire but resumed after Israel renewed Gaza bombings last month.
