Yemenis face health crisis as millions lack access to essential care: WHO
Yemen’s prolonged armed conflict has severely damaged the country’s health system, leaving 17.8 million people in need of health assistance, the World Health Organization announced on Sunday.
According to Xinhua news agency, the WHO is working to ensure that millions of Yemenis can access essential health services.
WHO officials stress that the health system in Yemen is fragile and struggling to meet the increasing demands, with children and women making up a significant portion of those in critical need.
In addition to the conflict, infectious diseases like cholera, dengue fever, malaria, and measles also pose serious public health threats, the organization warns.
