Severe Weather Threatens Millions Across the U.S.

A significant storm system is poised to impact over 75 million Americans this weekend, bringing damaging winds, hail, and the risk of tornadoes, Anadolu Agency reported. Severe thunderstorms have already begun forming in the southern Plains, particularly near Oklahoma City and Dallas, Texas.
The main threats include large hail and strong wind gusts, with a tornado watch in effect for much of Oklahoma until 1 a.m. local time Sunday (0600 GMT). In Louisiana, Baton Rouge remains under a flash flood warning after receiving up to 11.4 centimeters (4.5 inches) of rain.
The storm is expected to spread into the Midwest and South by Sunday, with the greatest tornado risk in eastern Arkansas, western Tennessee, Kentucky, and southern Indiana. Cities like Memphis, Nashville, and Louisville could face severe impacts.
By Monday, the system will likely reach the East Coast, threatening areas from Upstate New York to Tallahassee, Florida. Snow and ice are also forecast from the Dakotas to New England, with ice storm warnings issued for Wisconsin and Michigan.
