Largest Islamic Arts Festival Returns to University of Houston
The University of Houston is set to host the largest Islamic Arts Festival in the United States this weekend, marking its 11th year, CW39.com revealed yesterday.
Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, November 09-10, the festival promises a vibrant mix of food, culture, music, and art.
Attendees can look forward to an immersive experience featuring visual and performing arts, spoken word, film, and more, all aimed at highlighting the rich history of Islamic art. Local and international artists will showcase their works, fostering dialogue, diversity, and understanding within the community.
Fahim Somani, the festival’s curator, expressed the event’s significance, stating, “It’s so beautiful to showcase the history of the works within their own culture… it enhances the fabric of the city.” The festival is free for all ages, with minimal costs for theater programming events, making it accessible to everyone.
