World’s Largest 3D-Printed Neighborhood Nears Completion in Texas
The world’s largest 3D-printed neighborhood, Wolf Ranch, is on the verge of completion near Austin, Texas, the US, New Atlas reported yesterday.
Spearheaded by the innovative firm Icon in collaboration with construction giant Lennar and architectural studio Bjarke Ingels Group, the project features 100 cutting-edge homes.
Utilizing Icon’s advanced Vulcan printer, which measures 46.6 ft x 15.6 ft, the homes are constructed with a proprietary cement-like mixture, allowing for minimal human intervention during the printing process. Each residence spans 1,500 to 2,100 sq ft and offers various floor plans with three to four bedrooms and two to three bathrooms.
With energy-efficient solar panels and smart home technologies, these high-end homes are designed for modern living. Homeowners have already begun moving in, with 98 of the 100 homes completed. Pricing starts at $400,000.
