Dossier of Sudan War Crimes Submitted to UK Police

London’s Metropolitan Police have received a 142-page dossier detailing alleged war crimes by Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), including killings, torture, and mass rape during the country’s civil war, The Guardian reported. The evidence, compiled by international law experts, was handed to Scotland Yard’s war crimes unit (SO15) for review before potential submission to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The dossier accuses RSF leadership of “command responsibility”—failing to prevent atrocities despite likely knowledge. Former ICC judge Sir Howard Morrison called the evidence “compelling,” while lead lawyer Lucia Brieskova emphasized its role in “fighting impunity” for Darfur’s victims.
The conflict, now in its third year, has killed over 150,000 people and displaced 12 million. Recent footage showed RSF troops executing 31 civilians, including children, in Omdurman. The ICC is also investigating UAE complicity in genocide for allegedly arming the RSF to target Darfur’s Masalit community—a claim the UAE dismisses as a “publicity stunt.”
Both the RSF and Sudanese military face atrocity allegations, with US sanctions imposed on army leaders. The UN and rights groups corroborate widespread war crimes, underscoring urgent calls for accountability.
