World Television Day passes as 52% of Afghan media forced to halt activities

The Media Support for Afghanistan’s Free Media (NAI) organization announced on World Television Day that over the past two years after the Taliban regained power, 52% of visual media outlets in Afghanistan have ceased their operations.

The organization announced on Tuesday that more than half of the visual media outlets in Afghanistan have remained inactive.

It should be mentioned that the Taliban have imposed extensive restrictions on the work of journalists and free media since they regained control of Afghanistan, and have arrested, tortured and imprisoned journalists many times.
