Pakistan: Shia Ulama Council Chief Cleric stresses maintaining peace in Parachinar amid growing violence

Central Secretary General of Shia Ulema Council (SUC) Pakistan has voiced concern over the dire situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kurram district, stressing that no one should be allowed to sabotage the peaceful atmosphere of Parachinar.

Allama Shabbir Hasan Maisami condemned the recent flare of sectarian violence triggered by terrorist groups which has claimed as many as 30 lives and injured at least 50 people, as reported by local sources.

He further said that Parachinar is under attack from all sides, noting that those who play with the lives of innocent people are the enemies of the country and the nation.

The citizens of Kurram district should unite and not allow the nefarious intentions of anti-national elements to succeed, Allama Maisami added, encouraging all not to allow anyone to sabotage the peaceful atmosphere of the area.

The situation in Pakistan is growing increasingly volatile and dangerous as the nation prepares to participate in general election to choose its next Prime Minister.

In another incident today, a policeman and four labourers were killed and two others were injured in an attack on a police station in Balochistan’s Turbat by an unidentified group of 20 terrorists.
