Holy Karbala Governor demands establishment of power plant powered by clean energy

At a time when the Misbah al-Hussein Foundation Relief and Development Foundation in the holy province of Karbala is seeking to establish real strategic projects that serve polgrims as part of its development project for the Arbaeen visit, the Holy Karbala Governor Eng. Nsif al-Khatib demanded the Ministry of Electricity to implement a new energy project in the city.

A statement issued by al-Khatib’s office, which was obtained by Shia Waves Agency, said: “The Governor of Karbala, Engineer Nsif al-Khatib, received the Director of Renewable Energy in the Ministry of Electricity, Saud Saleh, and they discussed the establishment of renewable energy stations in the province.”

He added that “the Director of Renewable Energy discussed with the governor the establishment of such projects and converting them into electrical energy and allocating land for those important projects.”

The statement added that “the Governor of Karbala demanded the implementation of a solar power plant west of the province, and he stressed the need to prepare the section allocated for the implementation of the station.”

Al-Khatib was quoted as saying: “The local government is continuing to provide support from all government departments to ensure the success of the solar energy project.”

The Misbah al-Hussein Foundation had raised the problem of power outages during the sessions of its major development project (Holy Vision Karbala 2030 – 50 Million Pilgrims during Holy Arbaeen) and called for the establishment of electricity stations for the province and increasing its share of electricity during major visits.
