Egyptian House of Manuscripts restores one of rarest, oldest copies of Holy Quran
The Egyptian National House of Books and Manuscripts held a celebration on the occasion of the completion of the restoration of an early Hijazi Quran dating back to the first half of the first hijri century.
The Egyptian House has revealed the stages of the restoration of the Hijazi Quran, which is considered one of the rarest and oldest copies of the Holy Qur’an in the world, with a total of 32 sheets, 16 single sheets and 8 even sheets, written in iron ink.
The binding of the Holy Qur’an was carried out using the minimum humidity and the softening was carried out tightly and indirectly by placing the parchment between the ‘Gortex’ material.
The Egyptian website ”Vito” stated that the celebration at the headquarters of the National House in Fustat, began with the screening of a documentary film about the Quran, its history and the stages of its restoration.
