Swedish Professor calls on scholars to spread culture, revolution of Ashura worldwide
Professor Oliver Scharbrodt, a professor at the Swedish University of Lunds and previously at the University of Birmingham for Islamic Studies, History and religious beliefs, expressed great happiness during his visit to the holy city of Karbala on the Holy Arba’een, stressing the greatness of the holy city and its importance to Muslims and the world.
Scharbrodt said that “The Arba’een Pilgrimage is an unrivaled global phenomenon and is a sea of science and lessons that must be studied and taught.”
He called on scholars to work: “to spread the culture of Ashura and the great Husseini Revolution in all parts of the world,” praising at the same time the efforts exerted by all parties participating in the Arba’een Pilgrimage, and their selfless sacrifices and generosity in serving pilgrims of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.”
