Abaya dispute creates hashtag trend on Twitter

In France, the sharp critical reactions to the Macron government’s policy against the Islamic dress code have gone beyond political leaders, and today the hashtag “abayas” (#abayas) has become the trend in the social network X, formerly known as Tweeter.

So far, thousands of social network users have used the abaya hashtag to protest against the French government’s discriminatory policies that prohibit the Islamic dress code.

Similar trends have reportedly appeared in other social networks such as Instagram and Tik Tok.
